First String is an abstinence-education
organization based in Newark, Ohio. First String advisers and educators
strongly encourage teens and young adults to remain sexually abstinent—that
is, not to have sex until they are married—through a variety
of programs in the county and the region. Our emphasis on abstinence-only
education is intended not only to protect teens and young adults
physically, but also emotionally.
First String abstinence educators
have spoken to students throughout the area at a variety of events
and programs, |
and First String maintains an excellent
reputation with school administrators and teachers in Licking,
Muskingum,
Fairfield and Knox counties.
First String, which is affiliated
with Heartbeats of Licking County, is a nonreligious, nonprofit
organization that is supported, in part, by grants from local,
